Larry Lavine opened the first Chili’s Grill & Bar in Dallas in 1975. Located at the corner of Greenville Avenue and Meadow Road, Chili’s was “the first of its kind, pioneering the world of casual dining, with a full-service restaurant offering a , funky and relaxed vibe, ”according to Brinker International Restaurants, the company that now owns Chili’s.

The chain has undergone several ownership changes in the decades since its founding. Austin-based Magic Brands LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2010. The company was eventually sold to Luby’s Inc., which this year announced it would sell the Fuddruckers to North Carolina franchisee Black Titan Franchise Systems. .

Louis le Duff has opened Golden brioche in northwestern France in 1976. The first Madeleine opened 13 years later in Dallas across from Southern Methodist University. The brand now offers French cuisine in more than 80 locations across the United States

Perry’s Steakhouse

Perry’s Steakhouse has opened in 1979 as a small meat market in the Houston area. Over the past 35 years, Perry’s has expanded to nine locations across Texas. Last year, the franchise opened its first restaurant outside of Texas in Chicago.

Romano, the same San Antonian who started Fuddrackers, also helped launch the Macaroni Grill. Romano opened the first restaurant in Leon Springs in 1988. Romano also founded Spageddies, Cozymel’s, Rudy’s Country Store and BBQ and eatZi’s Market & Bakery.

Wing stop

Antonio Swad opened on first Wingstop at Garland in 1994. The first Wingstop franchise opened three years later and is now an international company.
