‘He didn’t deserve it,’ Lewisville family in restaurant shootout seek answers, justice – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

A family in North Texas is seeking answers after their loved one was shot and killed at a Lewisville restaurant earlier this week.

Several 911 calls were made just before 2 a.m. Thursday to report a shooting at the Chill Bar & Grill located at 2513 I-35E SB Frontage Road, Lewisville Police said. When authorities arrived, they had to end a big fight with the help of Carrolton Police.

Authorities found a man identified as Viron Prescott Ellison, 35, of Sasche at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. Ellison was rushed to Medical City Lewisville for his injuries where he died, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. His mode of death was listed as homicide by the medical examiner.

“He was obviously a fantastic father. He loved all of his children. Very active, very involved. A lot of the children all said ‘he was my best friend’. Their best friend was taken from them,” said Aaliyyah Bowie .

Bowie, the mother of four of Ellison’s children, said he went to the Chill Bar & Grill to meet a friend.

“This friend and someone else had an argument. He was trying to defuse the situation and was shot, ”she said.

Friends and family held a balloon drop in Lewisville in memory of Ellison on Friday. Lewisville Police said witnesses said the suspected gunman left the scene immediately after the shooting in a silver vehicle. A city spokesperson has so far said investigators have no motive or know of a connection between the shooter and Ellison.

Her family is begging anyone with information to come forward.

“Justice must be done. He left children behind. He left behind a mother, father, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, loved ones, ”Bowie said. “He didn’t deserve it. If anyone knows anything, please… just for the sake of their children, please introduce yourself.

Lewisville Police said witnesses gave officers a description of the shooter, but it is too vague to be made public at this point. The main Lewisville Police number is (972) 219-3600.
