Life-threatening allergy Reason for latest recall in Minnesota

A product sold at Aldi stores in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and across the United States has been recalled due to incorrect labeling on the product and could be dangerous for someone suffering of a food allergy.

If you have food allergies, I understand. I have a soy allergy and when I shop I usually turn every packet over and scan the nutrition label to make sure I’m safe to eat. If I don’t, I could end up with a mouth full of sores that are super uncomfortable. Unfortunately, a product sold at Aldi was recently recalled because the labeling was incorrect and anyone with a wheat or soy allergy should check their fridge and pantry.

According to the website, TreeHouse Foods, Inc. is voluntarily recalling a salad dressing that was sold in Aldi stores between August 23, 2022 and September 23, 2022.

Recalled Product Details

  • A product sold and labeled as Restaurant-Style Italian Dressing may instead contain Asian Sesame Dressing. Due to the wrong product in the bottle, the wrong allergens are listed.
    • . The Restaurant Style Italian Dressing label indicates the egg and dairy allergens contained in the product
    • Asian Sesame Dressing contains the allergens soy and wheat.
  • The product is a 16 oz. bottle and was sold in Aldi stores between August 23, 2022 and September 23, 2022.
  • The UPC number and expiration date found under the neck of the bottle are as follows:
    • UPC Number – 4099100074871 Best if used by Date – 08/10/2023

What to do if you bought the recalled salad dressing

According to the report posted on the website, anyone who purchased the recalled product is asked to choose one of two options:

  • discard the product
  • return the product to where it was purchased for a full refund.
